Thomas Fire Department is located in Tucker County, WV. Company 40 is completely volunteer operates 5 apparatus: 2-class A pumpers, 1-light rescue truck, 1-suburban, 1-1935 antique Seagrave pumper. with manpower of approximately 25 active members. Thomas VFD runs on average less then 100 calls. Company 40 does not run medical calls unless requested for man power by responding EMS units, primary call volume consists of MVC, search and rescue, and actual fire calls. I serve as Asst. Chief and Safety Training Officer for the company.

Canaan Valley/Davis , WV

Canaan Valley Fire Department is located in Canaan Valley, WV. Consists of some where around 30 members from several communities. CVVFD also houses Tucker County EMS Station 3. Company 30 has 5 units including the ALS ambulance unit , 1-class A pumper, 1- tanker/pumper, 1- mini-pumper, 1-suburban. Call Volume is primarily in the winter months as the company has two ski areas and one state park in its first due. Company 30 does not run medical calls however several of its members are cross trained to do both fire and EMS calls. Company 30 does a large amount of MVC, LZ, Search and rescue, as well as actual fire calls. CVVFD is also home of Tucker County Tactical Rescue Team.
