HARRISON COUNTY EMS

Clarksburg-West Milford-Shinnston, WV

Harrison County EMS is one of my places of employment, with primarily all paid staff and only a few volunteers, HCEMS provides coverage to most of Harrison County, WV with its primary focus on 911  calls and minimal transport service. The organization is broke down into three stations, Company 61 (Downtown Clarksburg) with coverage 24 hours a day 7 days a week, Company 62(West Milford Community) Coverage on a part time basis usually 12 hours per day, and Company 67(Shinnston) with coverage 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Harrison County EMS operates 8 ALS trucks with typical Medic/EMT staffing on Units. HCEMS also provides medic assist coverage to other local providers in and around Harrison County.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anmoore Fire Department And EMS

Anmoore, Harrison County, WV

Anmoore Fire/EMS is located in Anmoore ,WV a small town just out of Clarksburg located on I-79. Anmoore FD is a combination of 8 paid and the rest volunteer staff with primary function of paid personel to staff EMS units in Anmoore's first due which covers a large geographic but relatively low population area. Anmoore Fire has two ALS equipped Units as well as several other fire and squad units. Primarily staffing is ALS with some exception depending on staffing considerations. AFD also serves as the primary back up service to Harrison Co. EMS, and the only provided emergency Care with no transport volume.

Tucker County EMS

Thomas-Canaan Valley-Parsons, WV

Tucker County EMS is located in Tucker County, WV. TCEMS is a completely volunteer organization which consists of three stations locate thru out the county, Station 1 located in Parsons, WV which operates 2 ALS ambulances, Station 2 located in Thomas, WV also with 2 ALS ambulances, and Station 3 located in Canaan Valley, WV staffed with one ALS Unit. Tucker EMS is a relative primitive EMS service. With only volunteer staff and long response times the organization often has difficulty in many capacities. Long transports as well as difficult terrain and adverse weather also offer significant problems for providers in the service. Typical EMS calls often run up to three hours on average door to door time. The service serves two major ski areas and two state parks and is one of 2 EMS organizations in Tucker County.
