TUCKER COUNTY TACTICAL RESCUE TEAM

Tucker County Tactical Rescue team was organized in the mid 1990's by a group of local Fire/EMS/Rescue persons all belonging to the CVVFD. The team has grown form its original    charter members somewhere about 7 strong to today's team which consists of those members with a few additions. TCTRT is a specialized team which is generally self supportive and has a motto: ALS, anytime, anyplace. This team has specialty training in most all aspects of fire, rescue and EMS. TCTRT has won won several regional and state competition honors including being the the current and three time West Virginia State Firefighting Champions. The teams primary focus however is to be able to gain access and treat effectively any patient in any situation, in, on, under, over, thru or any other predicament, and then effectively extract the patient to normal working conditions. Then if necessary transport the patients to the hospital by whatever means necessary. The team generally requires a significant amount of training including minimum of EMT-B certification, Firefighter 1, HAZMAT, Ropes and Vertical Rescue, Vehicle Rescue, and also maintain status as a active member of the fire department and meeting the standards of the company. TCTRT holds practices and gatherings for persons thru out the county to learn more about rescue techniques, as well as to sharpen team skills and build team chemistry.
